This Novella is a compilation of four short stories which shows the darkest secret of human beings which involves murder, rape and devilish act. It contain 1922, Big Driver, Fair Extension and A Good Marriage in which king portray the darkest aspect of people and those they love.
1922 : It starts with the confession of a Wilfred James, a Nebraska Farmer who brutally murdered his wife to prevent her from selling 100 acre of land by involving his 14 years old son in that crime. After that he's being haunted by the memories of that crime.
Big Driver : This story features a mystery writer who is brutally rape by a truck driver beaten and let her die while returning on her way back home from book singing club that lead her to find him with the help of her GPS device and take her own revenge.
Fair Extension : Story of a man dying of a cancer stop by a road side stall run by a mysterious/devilish man who sell him a 15 years of life extension by shifting a bad luck to his best friend.
A Good Marriage : A women is happily married until she discovered the darkest secret of her husband which he is being hiding for years in a garrage which reveals that he a serial killer.
Stephen King proven himself to be the finnest writer when it comes to horror and in portraying the dark side of the human.
All the stories show the monster present in the human and how far can a person goes in their darkest crime.
I would suggest this book to everyone who love horror. King's flawless writing and great storytelling which I love the most takes you to the dark side of the world and for a novel this you'll get the actual meaning of horror.
